The Signs Are Up. Cave Creek, We Are Running
By Brian Hardy · The Hitching Post · May 2026
There is something about midnight that makes a thing feel real.
On the evening of May 11, Annie and I loaded up the truck with red, white, and gold signs and headed out into Cave Creek with family and friends. We fanned out across town. Cave Creek Road. Spur Cross. Carefree Highway. School House. By the time the sun came up, Cave Creek had a new name on its corners.
It is one of those nights you do not forget. The town quiet. The desert cool. Everyone moving with a purpose that does not need much explanation. You stake a sign in the ground and you think about the neighbors who will drive past it in the morning on their way to work, on their way to school, on their way to get coffee on Cave Creek Road. You think about what you are actually asking them to trust you with.

If you see a Brian Hardy sign in your neighborhood, it means someone who lives near you put it there. This campaign is neighbor to neighbor, the way Cave Creek has always worked best. No consultants telling us where to stand. No playbook from outside. Just people who love this town and want to make sure it stays exactly what it is.
The signs are up. Sixty-seven days until July 21.
We are just getting started.
